Polina’s been skating since she was five, and it’s been a big part of her life ever since. She loves the feeling of gliding across the ice and performing jumps and spins. She’s also an avid reader, enjoys playing piano, and loves spending time with her family.
When she’s not on the ice or studying for school, Polina likes to hang out with friends, go shopping, watch movies, listen to music and travel. She also volunteers at a local animal shelter in her spare time. All in all, Polina leads a pretty busy life!
Polina Edmunds: Polina Edmunds is an American figure skater of Russian descent. She is the 2014 U.S. National silver medalist and a two-time World Junior bronze medalist.
Early Life: Born in San Jose, California, Edmunds began skating at the age of five and was coached by her mother, Nina Edmunds, who had been a competitive figure skater in Russia during her youth.
Competitive Career: In 2013, she won the junior ladies title at the U.S Championships and placed fourth at the World Junior Championships that same year. In 2014, she won silver at the U.S Championships and bronze medals at both Four Continents and World Junior Championships that same year as well as placing sixth in her senior Grand Prix debut at Skate America that season too!
International Success: At the 2015 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Seoul, South Korea, she placed fourth overall with a personal best score of 194 points which earned her a spot on Team USA for the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships where she finished 11th overall with another personal best score of 191 points!
